(All teachers) Physical activity programs for all educators for increased academic performance

October 22, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 11:45 am

Donald Kerr, Vice-principal and PHE teacher, Massey-Vanier High School

Workshop Code: #LL1
Room: Gymnasium (233)

In this lab, we will focus on the benefits of physical activity and different examples of physical activity programs. This lab will provide educators with a chance to discuss best practices and a variety of different physical activities that can be used in any setting, not only in a Physical Education class.

Teaching physical education and health has become Don’s passion. He has been teaching for the past 10 years and feels like it’s the best job in the world. He believes that all Physical Education teachers have the responsibility to promote health and well-being in our schools and communities, as nothing is more important than health. The school setting is the best environment to encourage healthy behaviours and set the right example for our community. In the long run, this will allow our students to live longer and healthier lives.
