Self-Management & Emotional Regulation in the Classroom
December 11, 2017 @ 9:20 am - 10:50 am
Bryan Solloway, Behavioral Consultant & Autism Specialist at ABC Solutions inc.
The objective of this workshop is for teachers to understand that besides teaching academics in the classroom, students today are often prone to many stresses and anxiety outside of the classroom. The stress and anxiety can translate to issues with learning as well as behavior in the classroom environment. I will be offering teachers guidance on approaches they can use to help students self-manage and regulate these emotions. Ideas such as antecedent and response strategies will be taught so educators understand how to help their students through many of these steps. This workshop will involve some role play and acting so we can put these skills into practice!
Bryan holds a Master’s degree in both Autism & Applied Behavior Analysis. In 2014 he launched ABC Solutions which is a multidisciplinary team of close to 30 professionals currently working with this company. Bryan specializes in working with children and teens with autism, ADHD, behavioral issues as well as anxiety and phobias.
